Hanoi Province Hanoi Hai Dang (Light House) The Hai Dang (Light House) association supports gay family members in dealing with challenges and difficulties, and aims to raise the awareness of the general community on topics related to homosexuality to combat discrimination and negative stigma. Members have opportunities to meet and exchange information on health, society, culture and sports; and to attend outdoor activities. Some members are also active volunteers for HIV/AIDS and STD prevention projects, and programs for AIDS patients and the disabled. The efforts and outreach of the association allow members to contribute to their community in a meaningful way, making their lives more significant. Both gay men and lesbian women participate and are encouraged to invite others to get involved to make the world better. Hai Dang was initiated by the Hanoi-based Center for HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention and funded by Family Health International.
